Children's and Community Garden

A space for families to enjoy messy play in our Mud Kitchen and explore vegetable beds, pollinator habitats and more.

Please note: the Children's & Community Garden will be closed all day on Thursday 28 August for a private event.

Mud Kitchen

Kids love getting dirty – it’s in their nature! And what better place for them to do it than in the great outdoors.

This family-favourite corner of the Children's & Community Garden is ready for messy play, with play spaces and shady spots, as well as sensory corners and learning zones for workshops and school groups.

Complete with pots, pans, teapots and cookie cutters, our Mud Kitchen is the perfect spot to encourage children to get creative. Get stuck in!

Pollinator Habitats

The Children's and Community Garden is also a hive of scientific research! Our Nature Unlocked scientists have helped create a wildlife-friendly space to attract and study pollinators.

Discover an experimental bee bank, providing a haven for ground-nesting bees, and spot pollinators finding a home in our handcrafted bee hotels. We even have a "bee lasagne" with layers of different substrates for bees to nest in.

Vegetable Beds

Our brand new vegetable beds are designed with everyone in mind, with different heights to suit all needs, a wheelchair accessible bed, and buggy-friendly paths.

Which fruit and vegetables can you spot sprouting in the beds?
