When is Halloween at Kew?

Halloween at Kew runs from Friday 17 October 2025 to Sunday 2 November 2025.  

What are the entry times for Halloween at Kew

Timeslots for Halloween at Kew start at either 6pm (prior to the clocks change on 26 October) or 4pm (after the clocks change!).  

Slots go all the way through to 8.30pm, depending on which gate you enter through.  Please note: Last entry for 8.30pm ticket holders is strictly 8.50pm due to license conditions. 

What are the different sessions for Halloween at Kew?

Halloween at Kew is family friendly across all sessions, however the scare level increases as the night progresses…  

There are three different categories to consider when selecting your admission slot. The darker it gets, the spookier it gets.

Daylight – sessions up to 6pm. Most suitable for very young ones who need to get back home to bed early!

Twilight – sessions from 6pm-7.30pm. The scare level ramps up a notch.

Moonlight – sessions after 7.30pm. As scary as it gets (but still suitable for all).

Entry gates

Be sure to select the right entry gate for your visit.  

Elizabeth Gate: main entrance  

This is the main entrance for Halloween at Kew, located on Kew Green. The postcode for Elizabeth Gate is TW9 3AE. The nearest train station is Kew Bridge (National Rail), with Kew Gardens station (Underground) an approximately 15-minute walk. Parking for those arriving through Elizabeth Gate is available to pre-book in the National Archives car park. You can see more information about this in the Getting here section. 

Brentford Gate: reserved parking  

This ticket is only available for pre-paid parking at Kew’s Ferry Lane car park. Parking is £12 and must be added when buying your tickets in advance. The postcode for Brentford Gate is TW9 3AF.

Halloween at Kew is accessible via either Brentford Gate (TW9 3AF) or Elizabeth Gate (TW9 3AE). Plan your journey with our suggested routes:

By bike

We love to welcome cyclists to our Gardens.

There are bicycle racks at both gates. At Elizabeth Gate, the racks are inside the gates behind the booths.

Bikes left outside our gates are left at your own risk.  

We do not allow bicycles, tricycles, roller skates, skateboards, and scooters into the Gardens.

By bus

Route 65 stops close to Elizabeth Gate. This bus stops at Ealing Broadway and Richmond stations.

Route 110 stops near Kew Gardens station and Elizabeth Gate. This bus stops at Richmond station.

Routes 237 and 267 stop at Kew Bridge station.

By train

Kew Bridge station is 800m from Elizabeth Gate, via Kew Bridge. South West Trains run services from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction. There is no level access at Kew Bridge.

Richmond station has lift and level access. Walking time from Richmond station is 40 minutes to Elizabeth Gate.

By tube

Kew Gardens station is a 15 minute walk to Elizabeth Gate. It is in Zone 3 and is served by the District Line (Richmond branch) and London Overground.

There is no level access from the westbound platform. It is possible to continue one stop to Richmond and catch a tube back to use the eastbound platform which does have level access.

Ealing Broadway station connects to bus route 65, stopping at Elizabeth gate.

By car

Parking is available to pre-book for Halloween at Kew. Please see the section below for more details. 

Parking

Is there parking for Halloween at Kew? 

If you wish to pre-book parking for Halloween at Kew, you must do so at the same time as booking your entry tickets. You will see the option to book parking by scrolling to the parking tab next to the tickets tab, on the booking page. 

Parking is now strictly prohibited along Kew Road, due to the implementation of cycle lanes in both directions along the length of this road. You can find out more about parking in the area by visiting the Richmond upon Thames council website.

Brentford Gate car park 

Parking at Kew’s Ferry Lane car park (TW9 3AF) is for advance booking only. 

You need to buy tickets with reserved parking (additional £12) to guarantee your space. Your entrance to Halloween at Kew will be via Brentford Gate which is next to the car park. 

If visiting Kew during the daytime, you will need an additional parking ticket for the evening. 

The car park closes promptly at 10pm.

National Archives car park 

Car parking spaces are available to pre book at the National Archives parking facility (TW9 4AD) which is an approximate 15 minute walk from Elizabeth Gate. 

Access to the car park is available 30 minutes ahead of your time slot. 

Please note, this car park is pre book only. 

Disabled access parking 

Parking in Kew’s Ferry Lane car park (TW9 3AF) is free to drivers with a disability and displaying the Blue Badge (subject to availability). 

You need to buy tickets with reserved parking and select the option for disabled access parking.

Important ticket information 

Halloween at Kew does not accept 3rd party vouchers, such as Virgin Experience Days or Red Letter Days, as an example. These are valid for day visits to Kew Gardens only. 

If you opt for standard delivery and your tickets have not arrived 24 hours before you are booked on the trail please contact See Tickets customer service

Contactless ticket scanning will be taking place. On arrival, please ensure you have your tickets ready to scan – either your printed paper ticket, or from your mobile device. Please only arrive at your allocated session time to ensure there is no unnecessary build-up of queues. 

Please be aware that we don’t authorise or have any control over the sale of tickets via third-party websites. 

Visiting Kew Gardens during the day

Tickets for Halloween at Kew do not include entry to Kew Gardens during the daytime. If you have a Halloween at Kew ticket, you can add on a reduced-entry price ticket to visit Kew Gardens.  

Please also note that day tickets for Kew Gardens during the Halloween at Kew period are not valid for Halloween at Kew and cannot be upgraded to a Halloween at Kew ticket. A separate Halloween at Kew ticket is required for entry.  

Please note: If you are including a visit to Kew Gardens in the daytime, you will need to exit the gardens at the following times and then re-enter the trail at your designated entry gate and time:  

17 October to 25 October – exit by 6pm (last entry 5pm)  

26 October to 2 November – exit by 4pm (last entry 3pm). 

At Halloween at Kew

How long is the Halloween at Kew trail?

The trail is approximately 1.5 km long and takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to complete, whilst stopping for refreshments and attractions.

Are there toilets at Halloween at Kew?

There are toilets available near Elizabeth Gate, Brentford Gate and along the trail. Accessible toilets are also available at Brentford Gate and along the trail.

Are pets allowed at Halloween at Kew?

Dogs and any other pets are not permitted in Kew Gardens. Assistance dogs are permitted. Please bring along your Assistance Dog ID card.

Are Children’s scooters allowed at Halloween at Kew?

Children's scooters and balance bikes are not permitted on the trail.  

Food and drink 

There will be bars and mobile independent food traders along the trail, where you can choose from a range of seasonal and flavourful food and warming beverages. 

Please note, we are operating cashless across our catering units at Halloween at Kew. 

What to bring and wear 

Halloween at Kew is a one-way outdoor trail with no covered areas and the trail and paths can get wet so please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather. 

The trail is lit, but lighting will be low level in some areas so you may wish to bring a torch. No naked flames (e.g. candles, night lights, flares or lanterns) are allowed. 

Photography 

Please feel free to take photos along the trail but do be aware of others. 

We may use photographs taken at Halloween at Kew for promotional purposes, please talk to a member of staff if you would not like photographs to be used in this way. 

Access

Is the Halloween at Kew trail accessible?

The Halloween at Kew trail is approximately 1.5km long and takes around 1-1.5 hours to complete, whilst stopping for refreshments and attractions. 

The route is on pathways although terrain can vary in different areas of the Gardens. If you or any members of your group are encountering any difficulties, please alert one of our friendly stewards who will do their best to help you, and who can offer possible shortcuts to the exit.

Wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies 

Halloween at Kew is presented in the natural landscape. Whilst every effort is made to make the trail fully accessible, by its very nature it will cover some difficult terrain with a number of varying gradients. These areas may be challenging during wet weather. 

Can I hire a wheelchair for Halloween at Kew? 

Wheelchairs are available to borrow on a first come first served basis, these cannot be reserved. 

The use of Kew's mobility scooters is not permitted. Customers are welcome to use their own, but will not be allowed to use Kew's.

Are there accessible toilets along the Halloween at Kew trail?

There are accessible toilets at Brentford Gate and along the trail. There is also a Changing Places toilet at Brentford Gate for visitors with complex physical needs. 

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted at Halloween at Kew.  Please bring your Assistance Dog ID card. 

Is there disabled access parking for Halloween at Kew?

Free disabled access parking is available in Kew’s Ferry Lane car park (TW9 3AF), for drivers with a disability and displaying the Blue Badge (subject to availability).  

You need to buy tickets with reserved parking and select the option for disabled access parking. 

Cancellation, exchanges and refunds 

Please be sure that you have chosen the right entry gate, date and time slot at the time of making your booking, as Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and See Tickets are not able to offer exchanges or refunds once tickets have been purchased. We are also not able to offer refunds/duplicates on unwanted/lost tickets. 

Inevitably bad weather can affect any open-air experience. If we have to cancel due to safety concerns, visitors will be offered an alternative date. No refunds will be offered simply if the weather is inclement. Any decision to cancel that evening's trail will be taken by 2pm. 

If we have to cancel due to weather and patrons are not able to attend an alternative night offered, then a refund will be considered on a case by case basis. Where a refund is due, the ticket must be returned within 28 days of the booked trail.

I’ve bought the wrong tickets for Halloween at Kew, can I have a refund?

Tickets for Halloween at Kew are strictly non-refundable. However, if you log in to your order on SeeTickets you can swap your tickets (or upgrade) to a different date or time, subject to availability.

You can transfer your tickets up until 7 days before the date you originally booked.

Can I change my Halloween at Kew tickets?

Please log in to your order here. You can swap (or upgrade) your tickets to a different date. Subject to availability.

Tickets can be transferred up until 7 days before the original booked date.

Can I add more tickets to my Halloween at Kew order?

If you want to add more tickets to your order, you can manage your order on SeeTickets and click “Adding to your order”. You can then group your orders together and only pay one transaction fee.

Tickets are subject to availability. 

Safety and security 

For the safety and security of everyone at Halloween at Kew we will carry out full security checks at all entrance gates as normal. Your belongings and your person may be searched so please only bring what is essential to your evening. 

If you see anything suspicious or any persons acting suspiciously, please tell the nearest member of staff immediately.  

Please do not leave any belongings unattended at any time. 

Keep your children with you at all times. Ensure they don’t wander into the unlit areas of the Gardens.
