Specialism

Natural resource use, conservation, sustainability and policy in particular knowledge and implementation of CITES, CBD, Nagoya Protocol and Sustainable Development Goals.

In my role as Science Officer, I focus on the Convention of International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) working in the UK CITES Scientific Authority for Flora team. I provide scientific advice on CITES and the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations to Defra and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) on policy and licensing. I also undertake the research required to support this role, primarily focusing on plants that are traded globally.
