Discover the magic of the mighty oak tree in this interactive and playful experience.

This summer, a playful and anarchic group of forest guardians, the Oak-Keepers, have arrived in Kew Gardens. They’re on a mission: to protect the oak trees and the many creatures that call them home. But they need your help!

At Oaklore, kids and adults alike will become Oaktivists, vital protectors of the oak, through a fun, hands-on journey that blends storytelling, adventure, creativity, and environmental action.

Join Oaklore by Wild Rumpus for a summer of family fun, imagination, discovery, and collective wonder.

How to have a treemendous experience at Oaklore

The Oaklore adventure runs every 30 minutes at The Welcome, located near the Rhododendron Dell. Grab a map and guide or ask a member of staff for more details.

From The Welcome, choose from four Oakposts where you can play, meet curious characters, battle lightning with mighty acorns and parade joyfully in a self-guided quest. As you explore, you’ll live out exciting stories, create family memories, and connect with nature.

Weekends and weekdays between 11am and 2pm are likely to be very busy. Visit outside those times for a quieter experience. The last performance of the Welcome will be at 4.30pm.

The experience is open to all ages.
