This summer, we invite you to explore Seedscapes.
An exhibition of art, sculpture, and sound set throughout the gardens, inspired by the science of seeds, and the groundbreaking research carried out daily at the Millennium Seed Bank, now celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Discover the work of six international artists, whose installations highlight the urgency and beauty of global seed conservation. Through sculpture, light, colour and form, each piece offers a unique perspective on this vital work. Commissioned for this event, each artwork aims to inspire, engage and reconnect us all with the role of seeds in culture, science and conservation.

25 years of the Millennium Seed Bank
Step inside the Seed Bank and gain deeper insight into the work of the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership, and how Kew Science, together with partners around the world, are working to protect biodiversity, safeguarding our future on earth.

- Car parking is free for day visitors, Wakehurst and Kew members. Tiered parking applies for National Trust members.
- We have aimed to make this exhibition as accessible as possible with most of the installations reachable across established pathways with regular benches on route to each one. However, there are a few installations which are further into our landscape and therefore won’t be easily accessible for all.
- Please note that Seedscapes goes through both dog free and dog friendly parts of the gardens. Pick up a Seedscapes map and guide at the Visitor Centre to see which installations are included along the route.
- Didn’t get to all of the installations on your visit? For unlimited visits, the chance to soak up the season, and much more, why not take out a Wakehurst membership?
